We grew up to realize that so many of these acts performed in the scene of real life are actually the ills that leave our society sick, it gets bad by the day that we think it’s a norm we have to live with as time goes on. Its persistent occurrence in our everyday living in various household has brought about its nomenclature,Domestic Violence.
Domestic violence can be said to be abusive behaviours by one partner against another in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating or family. Domestic violence, so defined, has many forms, including physical aggression, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, controlling or domineering, intimidation, stalking and economic deprivation. It is necessary to imply that domestic violence these modern times faced either by wives, mothers, children or any family members should no longer be viewed as misdemeanor but instead a criminal act which should be treated by law enforcement agencies.
When I think of the scar left on the mind of victims, bruises of depression from within, the tears they shed each time these evil perpetrated on them comes to mind, low esteem they feel each passing minute and a bullet of revenge they pray to shoot,I only hope for them to find solace and let-go of the brutality suffered which they did not deserve. In whatever way we view these occurrences as being domestic or an household issue,we should be reminded that it has a large effect on the global scene,as victims are a part of a world that evolves everyday. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a BIG picture which we are part of,SAY a thousand words as we need to no longer keep mute about these issues that destroys us and brings derogatory esteem to our living.
We will hit the nail on the head like any other policies made by the government to enforce a law,Domestic violence must stop!,we no longer can bear the pains, broken bones and demented memories these unbearable acts forces us to live with. This is not a political rally to make endless promises neither a mob of protesters chanting 'we must overcome' but rather an outcry of the world that we can bear this sorrow no more,we say 'NO' to Domestic Violence and 'YES' to a world free from such.
